The Rainbow Only Comes After the Storm

I found these photo's the other day when I was making up the gifts for YW's. The caption has really made me do some deep thinking and praying. Don't look so shocked it has been known to have happened in the past.
I 've never cried over being released from any calling before....though I have cried alot about being chosen for callings that I've felt terribly inadequate and overwhelmed in. Number One was as Ward Chorister and Choir Director in 34th Ward. The Bishop had gotten tired of seeing us coming in late so he diliberately gave me a job to make me on time. LOL
Be that as it may I know I've fallen far short on innumerable occaisions (Sundays, camp,PP,Activity Nights) in this calling but I have loved every minute of it. I often joked that it gave me a Social Life wether I needed one or not. I felt rather sorry for myself the other night that I wasn't going with the kids to the Food Bank. Oh how I love those girls!! They will always be my Beehives.
They have literally brought me out of the darkness dealing with being alone and into the light where I have friends of all ages to help me along. Now I just have to keep going.....

Limited

In the musical "Wicked" which BTW, I stood in line 3 hours for tickets only to be told they were sold out about 30 people before me, there is a song called "Defying Gravity" Love Love Love that song!! Some people call it the I hope you're happy song. Anyway some of the lines go like this
Something has changed within me.
Something is not the same.
I'm through with playing by the rules of someone elses game.
Too late for second-guessing.
Too late to go back to sleep!
It's time to trust my instincs.
Close my eyes, and leap!
It's time to try defying gravity

Then later:
I'm through accepting limits,
'Cuz someone says they're so!
Some things I cannot change,
but 'till I try, I'll never know!

Good advice Right? So for the last few months I've been trying to find a Quote to go over the north window in the sCrapbook room downstairs. I've mulled over and discarded a whole bunch of really good ones. Actually spelling out LLTTF&JB, Well behaved women rarely make history, .......there are all sorts of very good ones out there. I'd practically decided for sure on a quote from Maya Angelou that says "You cannot use up Creativity. The more you use, the more you have"That was then
This is now...I stumbled upon this thought
"Never be limited by other people's limited imaginations"
Perhaps I shall use them both.

Safely Gathered In

I've been experimenting with a bunch of different flours this month. I've even baked cookies twice!! Shopped til I dropped at the case lot sale. Bought a few small self rotating can racks for the store room. Tossed a few out of date items.....like the yeast TK used at Christmas. To be fair I didn't even know I had yeast in the fridge, but since it was more than 10 YEARS out of date I guess I'd better start wiping down the doors more often. LOL The shelves need to get the once over much more frequently too.
Anyway this is all leading up to a bit of a very funny article I saw in my LDS newsletter. Go ahead laugh a bit...I spit milk out through my nose as I was reading it.

Top Ten Signs you don't have enough food storage!

10 - The beanbag chair in your living room holds every legume in your house.

9 - Your plan for survival is to move in with your parents.

8 - The only items you have purchased that would last your family a full year are garlic powder and toothpaste.

7 - You are hopeful that your children will learn to savor the taste of boiled wheat three times a day.

6 - Your entire reserve of drinking water is sloshing around in your waterbed.

5 - You asked for a case of soup for your birthday.

4 - After being discovered, your year's supply of granola bars was eaten in just two weeks.

3 - You are extremely proud of your year's supply of salt.

2 - Every time you need flour your borrow it from your neighbor.

and the number one sign you don't have enough food storage---You feel carefree after stashing away a year's supply of pizza coupons. (Latter-Day Saint Wit and Wisdom, p. 21).

BTW if you want some fabulous ideas to use every inch of space for storage you owe it to yourself to go to Flicker.com and type in food storage and look at any photo tagged with Linda & Clark. This gal is awesome!! I've decided that she must teach this stuff somewhere because wow she's got some neat ideas. And I stole the photos from her.

Shades of Gray

Baby Sis sent these photos a few weeks ago. Her friend took them while she was watching him. She's a professional and took the ones of PG Tracy too. He is getting so very big!! I keep thinking I need to visit soon or I'll have missed all his babyness. Don't you love the little gray wolf outfit? They change so quick.
Emil is already talking pretty plain for only 20 months old. TD said they will be here sometime in April for Tara's brother's wedding. I don't know which brother but hopefully Auntie Vic will get to play with the kiddo while everyone else is busy. What wonderful ulterior motives I have....
